Patient
Comfort
We
understand that in addition to being numb, a patient must be relaxed
in order to be comfortable in a dental environment. Pain and anxiety
are closely related. Pain tolerance varies greatly between individuals.
For some, dental treatment is no more difficult than a hair cut;
for others, just walking through the door is an act of courage.
We cater to cowards.
Relaxation techniques
include: head phones for musical relaxation, pre-medication, nitrous
oxide analgesia (laughing gas) and plain old-fashioned TLC.
Local anesthetics
have improved greatly over the past few years. In addition to
a variety of new drugs which vary in potency and length of action.
We are currently using a new delivery system called the Wand.
The Wand is a computerized drip which is barely detectable when
administered following topical anesthesia.
We take pain
control very seriously and will work with you to make your visit
as comfortable as possible.
